Aunt Phyllis

So last night Hubby and I attended a wake for beloved Aunt Phyllis. Sadly, she is a semi-obscure relative of my Hubby that I really didn't know. In fact I didn't truly figure out who she was until I saw her there. I felt kind of bad about that. I also found it heart warming that there was a picture of Fenway with the World Series Champs logo painted in the grass. I don't always realize how big a deal the world series was to people in this area. It was nice that she got to see them win before she died. I guess all Red Sox fans can eventually rest in peace. I found the whole time at the wake quite interesting. We chatted it up with his family most of the time. It was just eerie that as we were discussing my Husband's unruly hair there was a dead body 12 feet away. I was also noticing how weddings and funerals are surprisingly similar. You see relatives that you rarely see and you just sit around chatting, the only thing missing is the DJ.
